Why do we believe animal testing is not 100% reliable ?
Beyond the suffering inflicted on millions of animals, laboratory animal testing carries a higher risk of reactions to substances due to the stressful and unnatural living conditions of the animals. The results of such tests are unreliable because the animals tested may carry bacteria or diseases that “contaminate” the results.
With scientific advancements, the use of animals can now be replaced by lab-engineered human skin. It is possible to recreate, in a sterile environment, various skin types (dry, sensitive, etc.) or ocular membranes identical to those of humans and test them infinitely in an individual and precise manner. This approach provides reliable scientific results without cruelty to animals.
The history of animal testing
Animal testing dates back to antiquity. Aristotle was one of the first known scientists to use animals for experiments. He conducted dissections and vivisections on animals to better understand anatomy and physiology.
Animal testing has played a crucial role in the development of medical treatments. For example, for vaccines or vital medicines, these tests have saved millions of human lives, fulfilling a humanitarian imperative. However, using animals to test cosmetic products has always been more controversial, as it does not directly concern human health.
Today, with scientific and medical imaging advancements, such tests are no longer necessary.
Our values: cruelty-free skin-friendly products
From the beginning, we have embraced clear values regarding animal testing. We are committed to not testing our raw materials or products on animals. We have chosen to use botanical and organic ingredients for effective products without compromising animal welfare.
Globally, more than 40 countries have implemented laws on animal testing for cosmetics, and this number is constantly growing. These statistics reflect increasing awareness and positive change in industrial practices.
We hope that countries still hesitant to ban animal testing will evolve toward a cruelty-free world.
